Wedding Photography - Real, Relaxed & Natural | Your Story

Real, Genuine & Modern Wedding Photography

Authentic, relaxed and natural moments

I am going to show you what really happened on your wedding day. It will look amazing, but more importantly you are going to get to feel it! Adopting a mostly documentary approach across the day, I photograph real, emotional moments in a natural way.

“On the day they made us feel extremely comfortable and relaxed, they were so effortlessly fantastic and so approachable.”

Sarah & Oliver, The Tithe Barn, Bolton Abbey, December 2019

A unique approach to photography

The real skill of being a wedding photographer is not operating the camera. It is about being in the right place, making people feel comfortable by becoming part of your wedding and capturing you and your guests enjoying a great day. I take photos as if we were spending the day with my own family/friends and I create images that I think capture emotions and tell a story.

My approach blends many genres of photography together, I like to adapt to the situation I am in and I don’t really like having to be just one thing. The style and aesthetics of my images are formed to convey feeling and emotion, this is why I blend a neutral but colourful palette with high contrast black and white frames.

These aren’t just photos, it’s a story of your day

It’s relaxed, it’s based around what you want and it is uncomplicated. I want you to be yourselves and let me capture some love, happiness and epic memories. This ain’t about smiling for the camera all day, it’s about doing what you do and letting me capture how it all goes down.

Most couples will want the whole of the day capturing, starting with prep in the morning. I love this part of the day as there are typically some really emotional and important moments between you and your loved ones as you get ready for the day ahead.

Time to get wed…

It’s what you have been waiting for, you are making it officially with ‘your person’. So be assured I will be there to capture it all for you – it goes quickly believe me!

The people, the place, the time and space, they are all part of Your Story. Photographs that show context as well as intimacy will help to take you back to how it felt and show you things that you may have forgotten or didn’t even see.

High Five, Your Married!

The energy at this point of the day is amazing, you are buzzing after making it official and your guests are so happy for you. Getting covered in confetti, digging straight into the canapés, knocking back some champers or just having a few quiet moments for yourself.

However you plan to spend it I will make sure the atmosphere is captured so that you get to feel it all when you look back at your wedding photos.

Fun with family & friends

I haven’t met many people that look forward to having their photo taken, but these moments are important. This is one of the only times in your lives that you will have all the people you love in one place. and at some point in the future, these images will give you the most joy and comfort you can imagine.

My approach to the more formal aspect of wedding photography is to make it quick, fun and full of your character. No cheesy posing, no standing around for ages, just enjoy being together.

Time to party!

This is the part of the day I look forward to the most. I love music, I love dancing and I love to capture people having a good time. The majority of my favourite photos come from the dance floor.

If you are all about a good time then be assured I am going to capture it in an epic way for you so that you get to immerse yourself back into the action when you look back at your photos.

A Little Late Night Magic

Sometimes, if you want to spend a few minutes together later in the day, we can take another short walk to create a couple of fun and epic looking photographs.

Using a little light and features of your chosen venue we can create something unique that incorporates your personalities and the place you chose to get married.

Check out a full wedding day gallery

I would encourage anyone who is looking for a wedding photographer to look through some full galleries of real wedding days. This way you get a real feel for how a photographer will capture the whole day and see the consistency across different locations, lighting conditions and parts of the wedding.

You can view a couple of mine on the links below and I am happy to send you some more examples if you would like to see them.

Frequently Asked Questions

You may have a few questions, so we have answered a couple below and more more on our FAQ page. But if you have a question we haven’t answered please contact us, we would love to talk you through our process.

4
Are you a qualified videographer / photographer?

It’s difficult to work out what constitutes being ‘qualified’ in a creative industry, as anyone has the ability to learn how to do something and offer a service.

We would suggest the most important thing to look at is the consistency in the work a videographer/photographer produces, and take some time to learn a bit about them, and if you will connect with their personality and their approach to capturing your day.

We have years of experience capturing weddings, with lots of reviews from happy couples, and I a first class honours degree in Media and Photography.

2
Can I see some more of your work / full galleries?

Absolutely, we would always encourage you to look through full photo galleries and a variety of films before you choose your wedding storyteller. Once we know a little more about your plans we will send you more of our work which matches the style of venue and the time of year you plan to get married.

3
How do we arrange a consulation?

After you enquire with us through our contact form, or email/call we will send you some more information and invite you to have a video/phone call consultation. We love to get to know people and give you the opportunity to ask any questions directly. You are welcome to visit us in person if you prefer.
